Whenever a friend would tell me she roasts veggies in the microwave or bakes a cake in it, I&#8217;m usually very skeptical about it, although I have never attempted it myself. Come quarantine and I found myself trying to find creative and easy ways to prepare food, and therefore, started experimenting with microwave cooking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I got this recipe off YouTube and doubled it. Now the doubled version is my go-to quick and easy cake whenever the kids and I crave something sweet. Unlike other microwave &#8220;mug cakes&#8221;, this one has a very balanced sponge-like texture: not too fluffy and not moist. It&#8217;s enough to say that it gave me hope in microwave oven baking \ud83d\ude42 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"fs24 wp-block-heading\">Prep Time: 7 minutes<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>In a deep, round glass dish, mix the following ingredients:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide hr5\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingredients<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"list-style1 wp-block-list\"><li>8 tbsp all-purpose flour<\/li><li>8 tbsp granulated sugar<\/li><li>4 tbsp cocoa powder<\/li><li>2 tsp baking powder<\/li><li>6 tbsp vegetable oil<\/li><li>8 tbsp milk of choice<\/li><li>2 eggs <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide hr5\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Instructions<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"number-list wp-block-list\"><li>Start by mixing the dry ingredients with a whisk: flour, sugar, baking powder and cocoa.<\/li><li>Add in the wet ingredients: oil, milk and eggs, and whisk well until you reach a smooth texture.<\/li><li>Pop in the microwave for 4 minutes (or a little more depending on the power of your microwave oven).<\/li><li>Your cake is ready to cut and eat!<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide hr5\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Notes<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"list-style2 wp-block-list\"><li>This recipe would probably yield 10 pieces when cut.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:24px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"title-font has-text-color has-background has-medium-font-size\" style=\"background-color:#5ac0b8;color:#ffffff\">Hope you try it and enjoy!<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Let me start first by saying that I never really believed in &#8216;cooking&#8217; or &#8216;baking&#8217; using a microwave oven.
